HOW BETSY GOT STARTED :
I am so blessed to have a great family and be married to Will Nunn and have three wonderful kids: Wyatt, Lilly and Ethan. They have all been put before me and for that I am most thankful and I pray I do them all justice. I am so grateful for my upbringing and my folks, Jeff and Bonnie Lemaire. They instilled me with a good work ethic and a love for the “game.” We have truly gotten to be free and do the things we enjoy in this life. My husband Will is an outstanding Farrier who shoes for a lot of really good hands. and I am so glad he is underneath our own horses and behind the scenes keeping these horses sound and quick on their feet. I am blessed to have been at this since I was literally in my Mom’s womb at the barrel horse sale in 1973. We have raised and trained many, many horses. We have made a lot of really good friends through the years and seen some go home as well. I have had many great teachers on this road, some people and some experience – and for that I will always be in the utmost amazement. If I can leave something with you to remember it would be, “Life is not a drive through window. You are not only as good as your last run and always try to be who you say you are!”
“God’s mercy is bigger than any of your mistakes.”
BETSY: I would say to just be truly thoughtful of the individual horse that you are entrusted with in your life. Realize they are all different and have different needs, just like people. I don’t put any in a box whether it’s exercising, training or my feeding program. Figure out what works and then realize that sometimes what worked 6 months ago may need to change and be bettered today.
BETSY: Preparation is usually key. Put a goal out there and then just keep moving forward. Use things that happen to make you stronger, whether good or bad, to propel you through life and your game. Pray for the things you need and want and then be at peace with what you get. Try not to strive, but to be consistent in your ways and the things you do on a daily basis and be gracious on yourself and your horses and the people in your life. Things don’t always come to pass in our own timing and we have to be patient and just keep doing what we know to do, but walk in humility enough to ask for help when needed.
BETSY: My mom taught me as a kid to close my eyes and see my run. I still do this. She also said to write on your hand or paper 3 keys things to remember and to that I would add, write what you want to do not what you don’t. This is especially helpful when riding multiple horses. I also pray.
BETSY: Wisdom, knowledge and understanding are power. Seek out the folks that have been successful in this business and try to learn from them. Have a good friend to bounce thoughts off of. Keep your horses sound in mind and body. Realize if they are doing something wrong and they don’t normally do that, there may be a problem that needs dealt with ASAP. Only change one thing at a time so you know what worked and what didn’t.
BETSY: I see such a consistency in TechMix products as far as, they do what they say they do. We are not throwing our money at our horses and hoping it works. I have had so much success with U-Formula and I love BlueLite! TechMix products work!!!
I have seen so many horses change using these two supplements, as well as the Restart! Our family has used a ton of supplements through the years on ourselves as well as our herd, and if it doesn’t work, we quit spending our hard earned money on it. TechMix is awesome!
BETSY: My career goals are some that have existed since I was a kid. Some have been achieved and some are in the making. My life goals are to raise Godly adults, as I believe that would be my greatest accomplishment, and be a good wife and friend to those whom I love and show their love to me as well.
